TRIANGLE BUSINESS JOURNAL: “Singer James Taylor’s childhood home to be auctioned off in Chapel Hill.”

The Chapel Hill childhood home of five-time Grammy Award winner James Taylor will soon be available to ticketed tours.

Taylor’s parents, the late Dr. Isaac and Trudy Taylor, had commissioned the design and construction of the 4,000-square-foot home in 1952 shortly after Dr. Taylor joined the faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine where he also served a 10-year stint as dean.

The Taylors divorced and sold the house in 1974 to James andPatricia Johnston. The Johnston heirs have decided to partner with North Carolina Modernist Homes to offer tours of the home for the first time to the public before the building is sold at auction.

James Taylor, the second of five children, was 3 years old when his family moved into the four-bedroom house at 618 Morgan CreekRoad, and he lived there through high school. READ MORE…
